Photovoltaic glass has been manufactured using Crystalline Silicon Technology in two building solutions: Photovoltaic Skylight and Photovoltaic Curtain Wall.

In total we have provided 58 Photovoltaic Glass units with a 5T + 5T / 16Arg / 6TLow-e configuration.

The glass modules have an argon chamber that provides additional thermal and acoustic insulation, improving the interior comfort of the building. Students and teachers enjoy a more comfortable temperature, taking into account that Thessaloniki exceeds the average temperature of 30ºC (89.6ºF) during some months of the year.

The main objective of the conceptual design was to propose a structure that not only serves its educational and scientific purposes, but also respects the environment and the philosophy of the school.

The building is energy efficient through the integration of Photovoltaic Glass in the building envelope, following the principles of bioclimatic architecture to minimize energy needs.

The dream of building a dedicated living laboratory steeped in the latest construction and sustainability technologies has become a reality.

Schema 4 architects designed a building that is, by itself, an educational tool, encouraging students to learn and explore sustainable design and to think of architecture as yet another means to support the environment.

The Center exemplifies the sensitivity to environmental impact and energy efficiencies achieved by the use of modern architectural planning with the incorporation of bioclimatic designs, renewable energy and a focus on zero emissions.

This is the second STEM college that decide to install our innovative glass after the STEM Cuyahoga Community College located in Ohio, United States.
